Projects in the Works

Here’s a glimpse of writing projects in the works.

Of all the bedtime stories my father told me when I was a kid, the one that kept both of us up nights was about a game that never happened. We weren’t alone. A lot of people lost sleep over the greatest game never played. Sometimes they still do.

This nonfiction work merges memory with journalistic exactitude to recount a notorious junior hockey championship series in Canada featuring two of the greatest players of their generation — Marcel Dionne and Guy Lafleur — that was cut short amid political strife and laid bare the country’s Anglo-Franco tensions.

The Greatest Game Never Played employs a slap shot of literary devices that blend a vivid, moment-by-moment re-creation of the series with what happened to its participants over the next half century.
